Update on some of my neglected sites.
The amount of updates I’ve done for my sites in the past week were probably the most I’ve done in the past year! I’ve built 3 new sites within the space of 5 days and currently populating them with unique articles. I’ve also updated two of my much neglected sites in terms of Wordpress version upgrade, template upgrade, and plugin upgrades. I’m extremely happy with how they are presented now :)
Just last night I’ve taken the plunge and invested quite some money on an SEO service, building a network of sites called linkwheel targeting at 3 heavily targeted keywords. The build up will take a whole month and we should be able to see some result by August (I hope so). If I can push up my site to the 1st page of Google for either keywords it will be well worth it. As for my MFA project I’ve dumped slightly a sum of money, bulk of which were mainly for re-activating my Wordtracker account and obtaining unique contents.

Is the world coming to an end?
One cannot help but wonder if the world is coming to an end soon. At least, it does seem that way to a skeptic like me.
What with the widespread food scare, unending inflation, pending global recession, mega earthquake in Chile , and global warming getting worse.
I wonder ”if” I will be able to get a job at all in such economic conditions, even considering my not too bad credentials. Will I have to end up working as a waiter or a supermarket cashier… if such jobs will be available at all during a recession?
Will I have to go hungry with rising food prices due to inflation and a global shortage of food due to the food scare and natural disasters?
I am seriously thinking of beginning to grow my own food supply. Maybe its time to lobby the Government for permission for people to grow their own food wherever there is land. Afterall, during a recession Singapore’s prized land probably won’t fetch too much money if they can sell at all. Maybe by that time paper currency will become worthless and we’ll start to trade goods for pebbles or do barter trading.
Who knows, if I start planning, rearing chickens and growing crops early I might be just in time for harvest when the recession officially kicks in. Then I’ll be a rich man in my own right when compared to the wealthiest people in Singapore. Of course that’s provided the land outside my block of flats is actually arable.
But a consolation is that I probably can rear chickens anyway even if I can’t grow crops. Still, another worry will be where I can get food to feed my chickens. I hope they don’t have big appetites. Perhaps I should stock up on some hormone injection drugs while pharmaceutical firms are still not bankrupt and they are still available.
So many worries. The economic outlook is bleak. My future looks bleak too, for now. What can I do? Or, what can anyone do to make things better? o_O
